Our tax litigation team has advised UAB “Skycop.com” on VAT issues of a transaction where a company acquires claim rights from airline passengers, whose rights were infringed, and further receives compensation on behalf of the customers.

The significance of the advice lies in the fact that there is a very thin line between a supply of representation services and the acquisition of claim rights with the possibility to receive compensation. Our law firm was successful to convince tax authorities that our client will not provide representation services (which are VAT taxable) because the client will acquire claim rights from customers and will seek to receive compensation at its own risk.
