Our team has contributed the Lithuanian chapter for the 2014 volume of Cartel Regulation in the Getting the Deal Through series of annual special reports providing international analysis in key areas of law and policy for corporate counsel, cross-border legal practitioners and business people.
Giedrius Kolesnikovas and Emil Radzihovsky, along with other contributors from 46 jurisdictions worldwide, were selected for their recognised expertise in this field. The chapter covers the most recent trends in cartel enforcement and cartel investigations in Lithuania. The authors note that the Lithuanian Competition Council has been rapidly developing in recent years. In addition to record high fines being imposed for infringements, there has also been an increase in collaboration with the business community in the form of educational initiatives. Also the new agreements signed with the Police Department and the Public Procurement Office should help the Competition Council perform its duties and increase the efficiency of the work carried out.
