Among the most nominated firms in WWL Commercial Litigation 2022

Motieka’s dispute resolution team once again proudly ranks among the global elites: Who’s Who Legal Commercial Litigation ranking recognised 5 Motieka’s lawyers as leaders in commercial litigation (+1 compared to last year).

Recognition does not come easy.

Let’s look at some of our team’s highlights and success stories:

  • Rimantas Daujotas reached historic victories in complex investor-state and infrastructure disputes while defending ICOR from a 240 million EUR claim brought by the Republic of Lithuania and winning major annulment proceedings before Swedish courts.
  • Justinas Jarusevičius’ recent experience includes an unprecedented victory for Vilniaus Prekyba where the Lithuanian Court of Appeals awarded our client a record amount in excess of EUR 100 million. Justinas is also successfully building regulatory and private disputes practice in Fintech and Cryptocurrency sectors.
  • In addition to contributing to some of the aforementioned victories, Denis Parchajev successfully settled a large dispute that spanned over a few years, securing favourable terms for one of the UK’s largest independent specialist monitoring companies.
  • Mantas Juozaitis successfully represented our client at the CJEU in a tax dispute against Lithuanian customs authorities. The case resulted in an important precedent allowing the importers to provide evidence when classifying imported goods and limiting the authorities’ powers in this respect.

Ramūnas Audzevičius summarises the team’s success recipe as follows: “WWL Litigation rankings reflect the enduring execution of our long-term strategy. Our regional focus helps us make the most of our capabilities and guarantees our ambitious experts at Motieka & Audzevičius a unique and precedent-setting workload. Our strategic emphasis on leadership fuels our resolve to stand for due process, ownership defence, and deliver a client-expected value in complex cross-border disputes”.
