Case before the Vilnius Regional Administrative Court

Motieka & Audzevičius is representing the operator of Lithuania’s natural gas transmission system in an administrative dispute regarding the legality of legislation on the financing scheme of a Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) Terminal. The client is involved in the proceedings as a third party.

Vilnius Regional Administrative Court decided to refer the case to the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Lithuania and submit a request as to whether the provisions of the Law on Liquefied Natural Gas Terminals comply with the Constitution. The expected decision of the Constitutional Court will be of major importance not only to this particular case, but also to the further possibilities to finance the Liquefied Natural Gas Terminal project.
