Recognition and enforcement of Serbian court ruling

Our arbitration team represented the Republic of Serbia in litigation before the Supreme Court of Lithuania regarding the recognition and enforcement of Serbian court ruling.

The Serbian ruling of which the recognition and enforcement were sought concerning the refusal by Serbian courts to annul Serbian arbitration award in Serbia. The Supreme Court of Lithuania declared that the Serbian court ruling may be enforced in part, but could be recognized in Lithuania in full.

This is a significant and new court practice formed in the courts of the Republic of Lithuania regarding recognition and enforcement of rulings concerning the annulment of foreign arbitral awards.
