Recently the third edition of The International Investigations Review was published with our team members Ramūnas Audzevičius, Rimantas Daujotas and Beata Kozubovska co-authoring the Lithuanian chapter.
In their review the team presented some valuable insights into the area of international investigations. The authors conducted an appraisal of enforcement, conduct, and international (extra jurisdictional) issues. They noted that recent years have witnessed an increase in corporate crimes, which has led to stricter and harsher enforcement. The likelihood of this tendency abating is low. Moreover, the energy sector has been especially vigilantly investigated by the state. The latter is speculated to be related to the rising energy prices and the pressure society as a whole puts on the government.
