Dmitrij specializes in the resolution of complex cross-border disputes arising out of shareholder disputes, shareholders’ oppression of minority shareholders as well as civil liability, nationalization of property and trusts’ projects in the EU and CIS region. Dmitrij also focuses on other complex cross-border civil and commercial litigation matters, often involving multi-jurisdictional components.
Dmitrij gained experience in international and domestic commercial arbitration under a variety of arbitration rules (including the ICC, LCIA, IAC at the BelCCI, VCCA rules). His practice also encompasses a full range of aspects of recognition and enforcement of the foreign courts’ judgments and the arbitral awards before the EU and CIS region courts.
Dmitrij is also the owner of the highest awards in Lithuania’s mootcourts, both in intellectual property and tax law as well as concerning RegTech.
Dmitrij has an increscent academic background – he is a lecturer of legal theory at Mykolas Romeris University, also he is the sole author of research papers related to the topics of international commercial arbitration and multi-jurisdictional aspects of dispute resolution in the EU region and so forth.
Dmitrij joined us in 2017 after winning third place in the company’s “Night of Challenges” (Išbandymų naktis) competition. Prior to joining the firm, Dmitrij Mačiugin has practiced at the Court of Appeal of Lithuania.
