Edvinas Lenkauskas is a co-head of the tax dispute team at our law firm who has a solid international academic background and more than 12 years’ expertise in tax litigation and tax structuring. He advises major corporates and high net-worth individuals on complex transactions with a significant impact on direct taxation, VAT and transfer pricing issues.
Also, Edvinas is focusing on tax structuring in various jurisdictions (such as Malta, Cyprus, UAE, Hong Kong, Netherlands, US, UK, Estonia, etc.) and helping businesses to find fair use of the most tax-efficient ways.
Edvinas is an attorney at law and an exceptionally qualified tax dispute expert. By being a tax litigator, he has earned a lot of experience not only at the domestic level but also at the international level (CJEU, European Commission). His most notable victories against tax authorities are:
- victory regarding more than EUR 3 million calculated VAT related to triangulation and “safety net” provisions;
- victory in the tax negotiation where the tax authorities refused their own requirement for our client to pay more than EUR 2.7 million calculated taxes;
- victory regarding more than EUR 800k calculated person income tax where our client also was entitled to receive EUR 180k from the tax authorities as compensation.
During his career, Edvinas protected his clients from more than EUR 16 million unlawfully calculated taxes.
In recent years, he has advised a lot of prominent names, such as Allianz, PGNiG, Hostinger, Eneba, Kesko Senukai Digital, Linas Agro, Boslita, Ekomlita, YNOT Media, Orion Securities, Brolis Semiconductors, Finbee, 70 Ventures, Turing College and many others.
Edvinas is participating in various business and tax-related conferences as a speaker. Also, he has constant communication with the State Tax Inspectorate in order to improve official commentaries on Lithuanian tax laws (i. e. participated in the drafting of commentary on substance requirements for holding companies).
