Victory in a cross-border media law dispute

Our team has successfully represented an international media company in an administrative case initiated by the Radio and Television Commission of Lithuania (RTCL). The dispute concerned the legality of the accessibility of the worldwide services of the media company in Lithuania.

The Supreme Administrative Court overturned the ruling of the court of the first instance and stated that the request of the RTCL is submitted within a breach of requirements of the essential procedures.

Although the case concerned compliance with the provisions of the Audiovisual media services directive, the Supreme Administrative Court held that analysis of this question is irrelevant due to the per se unlawful submission of the request.
