Claim against the Polish energy concern

Our team has successfully represented co-authors of a patent before the Supreme Court of Lithuania in a dispute involving co-authors‘ claim against the Polish energy concern on the remuneration for the economic effect, which the concern received during the period of 1996-2010 by using the patent.

Legal significance of the case lies within the fact that litigation has been based on the outcome of the earlier case, which ended successfully for one of the authors of the patent who was awarded the remuneration for the year 1998. After 6 years of litigation, the co-authors were awarded 6 million EUR of royalties by the Supreme Court of Lithuania for the period of 1996-2000. Additionally, the Supreme Court of Lithuania remanded the case to the court of appeal instance to be reheard in regard to the co-authors‘ right to royalties for the period of 2000-2004 and interest. The ruling of the Supreme Court of Lithuania is final and cannot be appealed.
