Defended the interests of the major agricultural company

The lawyers of our firm have defended the interests of the major agricultural company in the Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania.

The Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania has heard an appeal of our client regarding refusal of the State authority to sell several plots of state-owned agricultural land. The dispute arose in 2008 due to different interpretations of the legal norm limiting the amount of land allowed to be obtained by a single legal entity. Ultimately, The Supreme Administrative Court of Lithuania has decided that the claimant is right and the client’s application should be fully satisfied.

The case is significant for all agricultural companies of the client’s group as all of them have been in a similar situation and the processes of the land acquisition have been stopped until the dispute is resolved. The decision is also an important precedent for the interpretation of that particular legal norm.
