Advised edtech innovator Turing College on its first strategic acquisition

Our Corporate and M&A team advised Turing College, an edtech innovator backed by Silicon Valley’s Y Combinator and trusted by global companies including Nasdaq, Moody’s, Vinted, and Surfshark, on its strategic acquisition in the United Kingdom – acquisition of Boom Training LTD – a well-respected independent learning provider engaged in apprenticeship training provision services field.

“The UK apprenticeship market is worth around GBP 4 billion, and it’s evolving fast. This acquisition positions us to be a serious challenger in a space where innovation has lagged behind demand. With Boom, we’re well placed to scale to a better model – one that delivers for both learners and employers” – Lukas Kaminskis, CEO and co-founder of Turing College.

On behalf of the sellers, Shirley Wolfe and Andrew Hooper, Andrew commented: “We are proud of the Boom’s achievements over the last ten years and the quality training and support we have been able to provide. We are hugely excited to support Turing College and follow their progress in bringing fresh energy to UK apprenticeships for the benefit of all stakeholders: the learners, their employers, and the economy.”

Our lawyers, together with colleagues from Howes Percival, based in the United Kingdom, provided end-to-end support on this transaction, covering all aspects from the initial negotiations to successful closing. Our team ensured the deal aligned with the client’s strategic goals and met all regulatory requirements. Drawing on our in-depth M&A expertise, we effectively managed deal complexities, addressed potential risks, and structured the transaction to deliver maximum value and optimal risk mitigation for our client.
