Šviesa acquires a controlling stake in Lielvards, one of Latvia’s largest publishers

Our client has acquired the majority stake in a competitor in Latvia engaged in the publication of textbooks and operating of digital interactive learning platform, as well as the sale of physical tools such as smartboards, microscopes, monitors and other equipment, both being solely in the educational sector.

In order to ensure significantly faster growth and become the largest educational content and technology company in Latvia, Lielvards is entering into a strategic partnership with UAB Šviesa. In the coming years, a Baltic educational company group will be established with the goal of making modern educational content and technology solutions accessible to every student in the Baltic region.

UAB Šviesa strategy is to develop a leading ecosystem of educational content and services for school-age and preschool children in Lithuania. With over 10 years of experience in digital content and printed publications, the group holds a leading position in its sector: 4 out of 5 teachers and students in Lithuania use its products and services.
